March 3, 2015 – Nelligan O’Brien Payne LLP and Shibley Righton LLP Retained by Former Employees of Plasco Energy Group Inc.

Nelligan O’Brien Payne LLP and Shibley Righton LLP (the ‘Firms’) have been retained to represent former and continuing salaried employees of Plasco Energy Group Inc. (‘Plasco’) in connection with the legal proceedings brought by Plasco under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA) on February 10, 2015.

Plasco’s former and continuing salaried employees are particularly vulnerable creditors of the company. Without group representation, it would be difficult for them to pay for the legal representation necessary to safeguard their financial interests and have their voices heard in the CCCA Proceedings. As a result, the former and continuing salaried employees of Plasco have joined together to form the Plasco Employees Committee (‘PEC’).

The Steering Committee for PEC instructed the Firms to bring a motion for a Court Order appointing the Firms as the representative counsel in the CCAA proceedings for all members of PEC with respect to all issues related to Plasco’s insolvency.

We are pleased to announce that the Representation Order was obtained by the Firms on March 3, 2015. A copy of the Announcement was sent to all Plasco employees, and all public documents pertaining to Plasco’s CCAA proceedings are available on the monitor’s website.
