The Family Law Practice Group at Nelligan O’Brien Payne LLP is pleased to announce two new members of the team, associate lawyers Ira Marcovitch and Emma Costain.

Ira Marcovitch & Emma Costain

Ira has been practising family law exclusively for a number of years, and has acted as counsel or co-counsel at conferences, motions, trials and appeals in both the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice. His practice encompasses a wide range of family law issues, including custody and access, child and spousal support, as well as issues relating to property.

Ira is a graduate of Dalhousie University (B.A.) and completed his Juris Doctor at Osgoode Hall Law School. Prior to joining Nelligan O’Brien Payne, Ira practised law at a well-respected firm in Toronto.

Emma handles all kinds of family law matters, including custody and access, child and spousal support, and division of property. She understands that issues arising from family breakdown can be stressful, and she is committed to helping clients navigate what can be an emotionally exhausting legal process.

Before joining the firm, Emma completed a clerkship at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, where she worked with judges on a range of family, civil, criminal, and administrative cases at both the trial and appellate levels.
