On Sunday, September 17th, members of Nelligan O’Brien Payne laced up their runners and hit the pavement bright and early for the 37th Annual Terry Fox Run. We could not have asked for a more beautiful day to spend time with family and friends while also supporting The Terry Fox Foundation.

The Terry Fox Run and Foundation

The annual 10k Terry Fox Run takes place in Ottawa every September along the Rideau Canal. Everyone is welcome to participate regardless of age, athletic ability or socio-economic standing. Funds raised from the Terry Fox Run support The Terry Fox Foundation, whose mission is to achieve Terry’s vision – a world without cancer. Every year Terry Fox Runs are held in over 9000 communities across Canada with the goal of raising funds for cancer research. This past year alone, Terry Fox funding exceeded $10 million for cancer research in Ontario!

Nelligan O’Brien Payne celebrates 30 years

Our firm maintains a long standing commitment to community involvement. Lawyers and staff are active participants in the community and support a wide variety of volunteer and community activities. This year marks Nelligan O’Brien Payne’s 30th year participating in The Terry Fox Run! Over those 30 years, we have raised over $160,000.00 for The Terry Fox Foundation. Lawyers and staff, along with their family and friends gathered together at Carleton University on Sunday morning to begin the run together. We always host a post-run brunch and this year, Bill Pristanski, Terry Fox Foundation Board Chair, joined us to say a few words to commemorate our 30th year of support.

Thank you to all who came out to the run and to all who donated to our team. We hope to continue this run for another 30 years.
