Billing Accounting Clerk

We are currently seeking a Billing Accounting Clerk to join our Accounting team on a one-year contract. This role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate and timely billing and financial records for the firm. The successful candidate will support the preparation, processing, and reconciliation of invoices in alignment with our billing procedures and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Upload bulk disbursements and input manual charges into the accounting system
  • Process invoices as drafted by lawyers and legal assistants
  • Correct and update transactions in accounting records as required
  • Prepare trust cheques in-office (approximately one day per week)
  • Perform daily reconciliation of trust applications and prepare electronic trust transfers
  • Deposit trust and general cheques in-office (approximately one day per week)
  • Respond to billing inquiries from staff and clients in a timely and professional manner

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Diploma or certificate in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a billing or accounting role, ideally within a legal or professional services environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliation
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
