Ottawa has been rocked by yet another OC Transpo bus incident, the second serious accident in a little over five years. This is a tragedy for the city, and many are in mourning, no doubt wondering how this happened.
If you have been affected by the OC Transpo Westboro bus incident, either physically or emotionally, you may also be thinking: what legal rights do I have?
Our Personal Injury lawyers at Nelligan O’Brien Payne have a long history of representing people injured as a result of an accident. Not only do we have experience and expertise, but our team is also sensitive to the fact that this is a traumatic time for many people. We take the time to listen, to make sure our clients know their rights, and we set them on a path to receive what they are entitled to.
And we have experience in accidents involving buses. We are currently acting for clients who were seriously injured in the September 2013 collision of an OC Transpo bus and a VIA Rail train. We are also representing tourists from China who were catastrophically injured on a tour bus travelling on Highway 401 in June 2018. In addition, in 2016 we were successful in securing significant damages for a man tragically injured in a high-speed collision with an OC Transpo bus in 2008 (you can read more about that case here).
