Alexander Dezan is an associate lawyer with Nelligan O’Brien Payne and a member of the Labour, Employment, and Litigation practice groups.

Alexander assists employees who have been terminated, works on human rights issues, and advises on a range of employment-related matters. He strives to be approachable and a strong advocate for his clients, and likes the challenge of finding creative and practical solutions for employees and unions alike.

Helping clients resolve their problems is the most rewarding part of Alexander’s work. He knows that employment relationships are one of the most important elements of a person’s life, and is motivated to assist people in vulnerable situations.

Alexander received his J.D. from the University of Ottawa. During law school, Alexander was a semi-finalist in the Nelligan O’Brien Payne Moot Court Competition and was awarded the Best Factum prize. He also represented the University of Ottawa at the Willms & Shier Environmental Law Moot. In his final year of studies, Alexander also completed an internship in Kigali, Rwanda, where he worked with senior counsel studying East African energy development and government policy.

Outside of work, Alexander likes to stay active. He enjoys hiking, cycling, and paddling, as well as music, cooking and travel.
