Aruba Mustafa is an associate lawyer with Nelligan Law, practising in our Employment and Labour Law groups.

Aruba champions human rights. Her practice is focused exclusively on employment law which includes providing clients with legal and strategic advice. She has experience with cases before Ontario courts and tribunals and the Supreme Court of Canada. Aruba works hard to achieve the best and most efficient resolutions for her clients.

Prior to joining Nelligan O’Brien Payne LLP, Aruba articled at one of Canada’s largest firms and later practiced civil litigation at a boutique firm in Ottawa. Aruba has diversified her skills and knowledge through her work in International Human Rights Law in Ukraine, where she assisted with human rights litigation at the European Court of Human Rights, the creation of Ukraine’s first Anti-Corruption Court, and served on multiple Canadian Election Observation Missions.

Aruba is a long-time resident and engaged member of the Ottawa community. She was an elected Council Member of the Ontario Bar Association representing the Eastern Region from 2016-2018, is a Mentor for the South Asian Women’s Legal Mentorship Program, and she loves to mentor young people and volunteer with Ottawa’s Muslim community.

Outside of work, Aruba loves to travel and write short stories.

Aruba is fluent and able to serve clients in Urdu and Hindi.
