Outside of her family law practice, Marta Siemiarczuk has also been busy this year writing a series of articles for legal newspaper Law Times.

Looking at cases from the Ontario Court of Appeal, Marta explored everything from retirement to marriage contracts.

“Case highlights retirement and spousal support”

This article looked at the Ontario Court of Appeal decision in Schulstad v. Schulstad, which explored what constitutes a “material change of circumstances” in the context of spousal support. In essence, what happens to my support obligations when I retire? Read the full article here.

In Slongo v. Slongo, the Court of Appeal considered income increases after a separation, and the impact that an early retirement may have on spousal support. Read the full article here.

“Decision affects net family property”
