Prashanth is an associate lawyer at Nelligan Law and a member of the firm’s Family and Estates law groups.

Prashanth’s growing practice focuses on all areas of family law, including separation and divorce, custody and access, child support, child relocation, spousal support and division of net family property. He also represents children in child protection proceedings on behalf of the Personal Rights Legal Panel of the Office of the Children’s Lawyer.

Prashanth understands the stress faced by clients in family law disputes and he strives to guide his clients through the legal process in a compassionate manner. He is committed to achieving practical, timely and effective resolutions through both negotiation, and if necessary, litigation.

Prior to joining Nelligan Law, Prashanth articled and practised at a boutique litigation firm in downtown Toronto focusing on class actions, civil litigation and family law.

During law school, Prashanth summered at the Toronto Crown Attorney’s Office and completed a placement at the Ontario Court of Justice in Toronto, where he worked closely with the judiciary on family and criminal law matters. Prior to law school, Prashanth worked at the Court Services Division of the Ministry of the Attorney General as well as the office of a Member of Parliament.

Outside of his practice, Prashanth is also active in the community. He currently serves as a legal consultant with For Youth Initiative, a not-for-profit organization which provides programming and services to youth. Prashanth advises FYI on youth justice issues, community and stakeholder development and navigating the child welfare and criminal justice system.

Prashanth has also served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Family Lawyers Association (2018-2019) as well the Standing Committee of the Young Advocates’ Society (2018-2020).
