Happy Chinese New Year 2018 – Year of the Dog!
Today is the first day of the Chinese New Year. And 2018 is the Year of the Dog!
People born in the Year of the Dog – birth years 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994 and 2006 – are characterised as sincere, reliable, considerate, intelligent, and hardworking. And the Chinese regard the dog as a very auspicious animal!
Some people believe that if you are in a year that is the same as your birth sign, you will need to be cautious throughout the year. According to some Chinese family traditions, an elder family member or relative will give you something red to wear to improve your luck. It may be red underwear, a pair of red socks, a red scarf, a red sweater or a red bracelet. So, if you were born in the Year of Dog, be sure to dress up in red this year!
