Sam brings to his clients a rare combination of legal and medical knowledge to his practice.
He has extensive experience in family practice and urgent care medicine in Kingston and Ottawa. He taught in the Departments of Family Medicine and of Community Health and Epidemiology at Queen’s University, where he was a full Professor, and served as Director of the Centre for Health Services and Policy Research at Queen’s for a decade before moving to a medical executive position at the Canadian Medical Association.
He has written three books, edited or co-edited five collections of scholarly articles, and is the author of numerous peer-reviewed papers. He completed articles with the litigation group at Nelligan Law and now focuses on medical negligence/personal injury and estate law.
Outside work activities he is passionate about Alpine skiing and enjoys cycling, kayaking, reading good thrillers, and travel.
