Jacob Harper

Jacob is an associate lawyer in the Business Law Group and Estate Group at Nelligan Law.

Jacob obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Brock University in 2015, and a Master of Arts in Law from University of Bristol in the United Kingdom in 2017. While at Bristol, he was a finalist at the university’s mooting competition and was a member of the university’s law school committee where he assisted in organizing events and competitions for law students. Jacob also acts as a mentor for fellow international students in his final year.

Jacob began his career working for small and medium sized firms in Ontario as a generalist. This has allowed him to identify potential issues in matters across multiple areas of law due to his experience in the areas of Real Estate, Wills & Estates and Business Law, Family Law, Municipal Planning, Employment Law and Construction Litigation. Jacob’s main area of focus are now Business and Wills & Estates and enjoys getting to know his clients and the advisory relationship.

In his spare time Jacob enjoys racing sailboats and in 2023 placed 2nd at the Shark World Championships in Niagara on the Lake with his younger brothers. Jacob is the current Vice President of the Canadian Shark Class Association and has served as a Board Member for several other organizations in the Niagara Region. He takes pleasure in learning about history and has travelled extensively while studying abroad. Jacob also has a basic proficiency in German as a result of a yearlong exchange in Germany before attending post-secondary.
