Edward Mann brings more than 30 years of legal experience to Nelligan Law, where he supports the Estates and Business Law teams as Senior Counsel.

Drawing on his extensive background, Edward contributes invaluable insight and strategic input to complex legal matters.

Throughout his career, Edward has worked extensively in real estate, estate planning and administration, insolvency, and corporate law, including commercial and tax matters. He is also known for his inclusive legal practice, having provided trusted advice to individuals, couples, and organizations in the 2SLGBTQQIA+ community. His approach is thoughtful and pragmatic, shaped by decades of helping clients navigate complex legal decisions.

Edward graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1980. After practising in Toronto and Prince Edward Island, he made Ottawa his home in 1987 and has been a part of the legal community here ever since. He has taught Bankruptcy and Insolvency at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law as an Adjunct Professor for more than 20 years.

Beyond the office, Edward is deeply engaged in Ottawa’s arts and non-profit scenes. He regularly performs in the annual County of Carleton Law Association Lawyers’ Play and has held leadership roles with the Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind, the Ottawa Chamber Music Society, and the County of Carleton Law Association. In recognition of his community service, Edward received the CCLA’s Gordon F. Henderson Award in 2022.
