Evelyn Hein is an associate lawyer in our Family Law Group.

Evelyn supports her clients through every stage of their family law matters, including divorce, separation, custody and access, and parenting issues. She works tirelessly to achieve effective solutions for her clients and their families. Evelyn understands that her clients are facing a difficult time, and she approaches each matter with patience and empathy. Her extensive background in client-facing roles translates into a strong understanding of client needs, focusing on clear communication and providing the information needed to make informed decisions in an accessible way.

Prior to joining Nelligan Law, Evelyn articled at a boutique family law firm in Downtown Ottawa before practicing in Ottawa South. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Politics from Acadia University and her Juris Doctor from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University. During school, Evelyn worked with an organization working to promote access to justice for self-represented litigants navigating their way through family court.

Originally from the East Coast, Evelyn has called Ottawa home since 2023. Outside of the office, she enjoys a good book, fitness classes, and travelling – particularly finding her way to the ocean whenever possible.
