Andrew Montague-Reinholdt is a partner with Nelligan Law, and a team leader of our Employment and Labour Law practice groups.

Andrew received his J.D. from the University of Ottawa. He is a member of the employment and labour law groups. His practise includes administrative law, constitutional law, human rights law, regulatory law, wrongful dismissal claims, contract negotiations, professional discipline, class proceedings, collective bargaining, grievance arbitration, and general litigation.

Andrew has represented individual and union clients in the Supreme Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal, the Federal Court, the Superior Court, the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, the Federal Public Service Labour Relations and Employment Board, the Ontario Court of Appeal,  and various other administrative tribunals. He has also worked as class counsel for plaintiffs in various class proceedings.

Andrew was drawn to law because he had a keen interest in working with clients to help them through difficult times. He practises employment and labour law because of his desire to help people navigate their employment, which is one the most important parts of a person’s life, as well as his desire to support the union movement in Canada.

Andrew is passionate about advocacy and takes a collaborative approach to try and find creative solutions to his clients’ legal problems.

During law school, Andrew was a member of the top ranking Canadian team in the American Bar Association Negotiation Competition, and represented the University of Ottawa in the Labour Law Moot. He also won the Dean’s Award for academic performance and contributions to the law school community, and the prize for overall performance in Labour Law, Employment Law and Human Rights courses.

Andrew was recognized in the 2025 edition of Best Lawyers with the “Ones To Watch” designation, an award recognizing lawyers who are in the first 10 years of their careers for outstanding professional excellence in private practice.

In his spare time, Andrew can usually be found out on the golf course, training for a marathon or hiking in Gatineau Park.
