Congratulations to Craig O’Brien, Forty Under 40 Award Recipient!

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Friday evening, Ottawa celebrated the top young entrepreneurs at the Forty Under 40 Awards Gala co-hosted by the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce and the Ottawa Business Journal.

The annual gala took place at the Hilton Lac-Leamy in Gatineau and celebrated forty individuals who represent the future of the Ottawa region’s business community. This year’s top forty were selected for their business achievements, professional expertise and community involvement, from a pool of over 200 nominations.

Craig O’Brien, partner and leader of the Commercial Litigation and Business Law groups at Nelligan O’Brien Payne, was one of this year’s recipients.

Craig works in civil litigation, commercial and construction litigation, insurance defence, professional liability litigation and business law. He has appeared before all levels of Ontario Courts, and various administrative tribunals, including the Financial Services Commission of Ontario.

Craig is also heavily involved in a number of local community organizations, including as an Executive member of the County of Carleton Law Association, and fundraising activities with Ottawa’s United Way.

Craig, who is 39, jokes that he won this award in the nick of time! “It’s certainly humbling”, Craig told OBJ.social last Friday. You can read more about the event here.

It has been quite the spring for the O’Brien men at Nelligan O’Brien Payne, as just last month, senior partner Allan O’Brien was honoured by The Advocates’ Society and presented with the John P. Nelligan Award for Excellence in Advocacy.
