Daniel Duyvelshoff is a member of our Family Law group.
He prides himself on dedicating his focus to this area of law since being called to the bar in 2020. His experiences have honed his skills, to better understand each client’s concerns, and then to provide tailored solutions to allow them to move forward with their life. Daniel also knows Family Law is more than just separations and divorces – he is happy to provide services for Marriage Contracts/Cohabitation Agreements, for stepparent and relative adoptions, and for the unique challenges facing the 2SLGBTQI+ community.
Daniel became a lawyer with one goal in mind: helping people. Family Law offers him this opportunity, one where he can assist a person in one of the most significant events in their lives. His goal is not just to help them through the process but to set them up for a successful and meaningful future. He also enjoys Family Law for the challenge it presents, keeping each day unique and interesting. He knows that resolution can take many forms and is prepared to meet that challenge, whether it occurs through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation.
Daniel obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law and graduated cum laude. He was an active member of the school community, including being an executive in the Family Law in Practice group, winning Second Best Overall Team at the Walsh Family Law Moot, and participating in the law school’s rendition of Mamma Mia! Prior to law school, he attended Western University where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Media, Information, and Technoculture and Fanshawe College where he graduated from the Television Broadcasting program.
When not in the office, Daniel enjoys catching a concert, rock climbing, and shooting pool. He may also get too competitive with weekly bar trivia.
