Sara Morrison is an associate lawyer in our Family Law group
From the first interaction, Sara’s goal is to ensure clients feel heard and seen. She is empathetic and compassionate and enjoys working with her clients to create the best plan of action.
Prior to joining Nelligan Law in 2023, Sara worked for a number of years at a boutique family law firm in Ottawa.
Sara obtained her Juris Doctor (J.D.) law degree from the University of Ottawa. She also earned an honours bachelor’s degree in Journalism at the University of Ottawa. During her time at law school at the University of Ottawa, she worked for two years at the University’s Community Legal Clinic where she provided legal education to community groups and helped individuals make applications to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board. She was also a presenter for the Superior Court of Justice’s Mandatory Information Program (MIP), where she provided valuable information to attendees about the legal process in family law.
Sara understands the difficult nature of family law and strives to communicate effectively during all stages of a matter. Sara is happy to assist on all aspects of a family law matter, including court applications, domestic contracts (marriage/cohabitation contracts, separation agreements), adoptions and simple divorces.
Outside of the office Sara enjoys being active through hikes in Gatineau hills, taking spin/barre classes at her local fitness studio and walking her large, furry golden retriever, “Watson”. She also enjoys spending time with her family.
