Tatyana practices civil litigation with an emphasis on personal injury litigation, long-term disability and estate litigation.
Tatyana joined Nelligan Law following many years with a national personal injury firm. She is a seasoned personal injury lawyer and has significant experience representing those injured in motor vehicle accidents, slips and falls and other types of injuries. Tatyana has represented clients at the Superior Court of Justice and in the Ontario Small Claims Court. She works tirelessly for her clients, providing measured and thoughtful legal advice, aiming to be highly communicative so clients are kept informed every step of the way. She understands that she often encounters clients at a very difficult and traumatic time in their lives and strives to assist in making the process as seamless as possible.
In addition to her personal injury practice, Tatyana also has significant experience with long-term disability claims and has represented countless clients with contesting denials for long-term disability applications.
Tatyana also practices in the area of Estate Litigation, assisting clients with guardianship applications as well as representing clients in contentious estates matters.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Tatyana worked in politics for several years. In addition to her French Common Law degree from the University of Ottawa, she also has a Master of Political Management from the Clayton Riddell School of Political Management as well as an Honour’s Bachelor Degree in Political Science, both from Carleton University. Tatyana is fluently bilingual in English and French and represents clients in both languages.
A lifelong resident of the National Capital region, Tatyana is proud to live and practice law in Ottawa. She actively seeks to engage in the community and currently sits as a Director with The Rehab Centre Volunteer Association and is a member of the Friends of the National Arts Centre Orchestra.
Tatyana is passionate about mentoring women in the law. During law school, she was actively involved with the Women’s Legal Mentorship program as it’s coordinator and as a mentee and mentor. She continues to be involved with the Women’s Legal Mentorship program and currently sits on the Leadership, Equity and Advisory Group.
When not practicing law, Tatyana enjoys trying new restaurants and traveling with her husband. She especially loves traveling to Italy, where she lived for a semester in her undergraduate degree. In her spare time, you can find Tatyana enjoying the company of friends and family, window shopping in Ottawa boutiques, or trying out the newest restaurants.
