Hello everyone,
As the situation with COVID-19 continues to evolve, we are continually updating our processes to ensure that we adhere to the recommendations from the Canadian public health authorities for the safety of our staff, our clients and our community.
As an essential service, we will remain open. Over the past weeks we have worked quickly and carefully to create a remote working environment. This transition is complete, and we are fully operational in all areas. The COVID-19 pandemic continues to test our communities in many ways and we will ensure that we are available – and will continue to be available – to support the legal needs of the people and businesses that need us. Our team is available to support new and existing clients during this time.
We have received many questions about the impact of potential changes, closures or slowdowns of the actual legal system on individual cases. We are in close communication with all areas of the justice system and will update clients if they will be impacted. This is an unprecedented situation that requires flexibility and due diligence. It will not be business as usual, but we will be as clear and transparent as possible about how we will work through this together.
The pandemic has revealed the strength of humanity and of our community. As a member and supporter of this community, we have introduced a COVID-19 Employment Law Helpline to help address the numerous and widespread legal questions that are arising. The objective of this helpline is to help the public navigate the growing number of employment related legal questions resulting from the business slowdowns and closures. We continue to carefully monitor the situation and will provide updates as they become available.
Stay safe.
