Honda Canada has issued a significant recall affecting nearly a quarter of a million vehicles in Canada. In the United States, that figure climbs to more than 1.69 million vehicles.
If you notice abnormal noise or a momentary “sticky” feeling when driving any of the following vehicles, you should immediately take your car to a Honda or Acura dealership for repair:
- 2023-2025 Acura Integra
- 2024-2025 Acura Integra Type S
- 2022-2025 Honda Civic Sedan
- 2022-2025 Honda Civic Hatchback
- 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid Sedan
- 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid Hatchback
- 2023-2025 Honda Civic Type R
- 2023-2025 Honda CR-V
- 2023-2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid
- 2023-2025 Honda HR-V
According to the NHTSA in the United States, the defect is caused by a faulty steering gearbox assembly, which can lead to excessive internal friction and result in difficulty steering the vehicle. This could make it hard for drivers to control the car, significantly increasing the risk of a crash.
Don’t take chances with your safety—get your vehicle checked and ensure that the steering system is functioning properly.
With nearly 1.7 million vehicles affected in the U.S. as well, this is not just a minor inconvenience—it’s a serious safety hazard. If you’re driving one of the affected models, have your vehicle inspected and repaired by an authorized Honda or Acura dealer immediately.
Driving a vehicle with a defective steering system poses a severe danger. You may experience difficulty steering, especially in emergencies or tight spaces, and the increased risk of an accident could lead to serious injuries or worse.
If you or someone you know has already been injured in an accident involving one of these recalled vehicles, it’s critical to seek legal advice.
