Alana Guy is an associate lawyer at Nelligan Law and a member of our Elder Law and Estates Law groups.

With a focus on bilingual practice, Alana has committed herself to effectively communicating with her clients in English, French, Italian, and Spanish.

Prior to joining Nelligan Law in 2023, Alana worked in Estates, Family Law, and Condominium Litigation with another Ottawa-based firm. She has also drafted and pled in bilingual matters before the Small Claims Court, The Superior Court family and civil branches. Her language skills ensure that her clients have a clear understanding of the legal concepts, risks, and consequences they need to make informed decisions.

Alana obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa’s French Common Law Section, where she excelled in courses that taught oral and written advocacy. During her law school years, she participated in various student exchanges and legal internships abroad where courses were taught in Spanish and Italian. During this time she also drafted research summaries for the Vice-Dean of Research.

With her approachable and candid demeanor, Alana proposes realistic solutions for her and guides them through every step of the process.

Originally from Montreal, Quebec, Alana lived in Italy, Chile, and Peru before settling in Ottawa. When she’s not practicing law, Alana can often be found enjoying the great outdoors, downhill skiing, paddle boarding, or hiking with her beloved dog.
